Zero-Eight Skateboard Park Grand Opening


Tristar Skateboards is having the grand opening of the latest addition to their Cleveland Ohio compound this Saturday April 11th, 2015.  The new  skateboard park is called Zero-Eight Skatepark and it features a clean spine ramp, a well built street section and a welcoming atmosphere.  The skateboard park is attached to Tristar Skateshop so if you’ve been to the shop you know where the park is.

For the grand opening there will be free food while supplies last, a product toss and a best trick contest on the spine, stairs, hubba ledge and bump to bar.  It will cost $5.00 to skate and/or compete.  If you want to skate or compete you must turn in a waiver before Saturday.  The waiver can be downloaded here.

Event sponsors include Bones Bearings, Thrasher Magazine, DLXSF, Redbull, Glassy Sunhaters, Sole Technology, Huf Worldwide, Tum Yeto, Dwindle Distribution, NHS Fun Factory, Stuck In Ohio, and Powell Peralta.

The schedule of this Saturday’s grand opening is as follows.

• 8:00am to Noon: Beginner/Intermediate Practice, Open Skate

• Noon to 2:00pm: Advanced Practice, Open Skate

• 3:00pm to 4:00pm: Registration for Best Trick (All Skill Levels), Open Skate

• 4:30pm to 5:30pm: Beginner/Intermediate Best Trick

• 6:00pm to 7:00pm: Advanced Best Trick

• 7:15pm to 7:45pm: Awards

• 8:00pm: Product Toss

• 8:30pm to ?: Open Skate

It’s worth mentioning that if you want to skate on the 11th that you must turn in your waiver before then.  Here is a link to the waiver that you can download, print out and return to Tristar before Saturday.

King of Ohio 2


King of Ohio 2 is happening this Saturday the 8th at Skate Naked.  There will be three different ways to compete, either in the bowl, street or best trick.  Signups close at 2:00pm so get there before then if you want to compete.  Contest starts at 3:00pm and there will be live bands.

East Meets West 2014


It’s that time of year again, East Meets West is this Saturday May 24th.  Location is 5620 Broadway and East 55th.  If you’ve never been to this event it’s the place to be to see the best flatground skating in this city.

2:00pm Registration, 2:45pm Matches Start.  $10 Entry Fee and there will be two divisions split by age.  Prizes go to the top five skaters and there is a 100 skater maximum.  You even get a free tshirt just by entering.

This contest is brought to you by Public Square Group, Slavic Village Skateboarding & SVDTristar Skateshop, Westside, RTA, Jakprints, Martini Skate + Snow, Lame Brotherhood, Broadway Public Art, and Ward 12 Councilman Anthony Brancatelli.  DJ NuERA is handling the music.


Karnage II


This Saturday March 22nd will be round two of the Karnage at the Kitchen.  Like last year it will be a Texas Death Match with cash and prizes from Plague Hardware, DLXSF, Vox Footwear, and Assault Skateboards for those who survive.  It will be $10 to skate and $5 to spectate.  This will be the last official event at the current Skate Kitchen location so make sure you attend because this spot will be gone soon.

The event runs from 12:00 noon to 6:00pm and the address of the Skate Kitchen is 1835 E30th, Cleveland, OH 44114.
